Honoring all December birthdays!

This Month in History

- 1911 – Willis Carrier presented his “Rational Psychrometric Formulae” which made air conditioning possible.

In 1914, an incredible moment of peace occurred. During WWI, opposing troops paused from war to sing Christmas hymns! This phenomenon is known as the Christmas Truce.
- 1965 – A Charlie Brown Christmas premiered. The classic is among the longest-running Christmas specials in America.

In 1968, Apollo 8 became a most memorable mission – as it was the first time Earth was seen from the moon’s perspective. During their live broadcast astronauts read from the Book of Genesis.
- 2017 – Astronauts at the ISS went viral as they held the first ‘pizza party’ in space.
Christmas in December

Constantine I was a Roman Emperor who ruled much of the known world. It was in the 4th century that the Christian Church established December as the month to celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus.
Lights, Lights, Lights
During the month of December, you can enjoy beautiful light displays. Lights galore, some up to 1 million, can be seen across the U.S. at botanical gardens. Check your local listings.

And consider asking to take the lead on some of the other holiday festivities. (It is your special month!)
