The Story of Valentine

During the 490s, the feast day was declared for the saint who was executed because of his opposition to Emperor Claudius II. The emperor did not want young soldiers getting married because he believed single soldiers were the best fighters. In time, February 14th expanded as a day to celebrate love.
Art Festivals
February birthdays can include a trip to the nearest art festival.

In various states across the U.S., fine art, art & craft, sound, and shopping events are planned at cultural centers, neighborhood venues, historic locations, downtown streets, shopping centers, even at golf clubs. Taking time to pause and explore might be a nice addition to your birthday festivities. Check your local listings.
